Two deities arrive in New York as celestial travelers conducting a study of humanity. Moving through the city as detached observers, they encounter the petty, brutal, absurd and unexpectedly tender rituals of human life – consumption, status, loneliness, desire, cruelty, intimacy, survival. Each episode unfolds as a supernatural micro-tale, revealing another contradiction in the species they came to observe. The deeper they look, the less clear their conclusion becomes: is humanity a failed experiment, a beautiful accident, or is this planet not even worth exploring?
